Somewhere to put things down.

Your own thoughts, and the posts you want to pass on. On your page and in RSS. Read by anyone, argued with by no one, counted by nothing.

Why it feels different

Three things are missing on purpose.

Most social platforms make you anxious by design: a number to watch, a reply to answer, an audience to picture. Randomly removes all three at the level of the database, not the settings screen. There is no switch to turn them back on.

No numbersLikes, follower counts, view counts

Nothing about you is counted, so there is nothing to check, nothing to beat, and no reason to compare your page to anyone else's. Not even privately to yourself.

No repliesComments, quote-posts, mentions, DMs

Nobody can say anything to you here. You write, people read, and that is the end of it. Nothing to defend, nothing to answer, no thread waiting for you.

No audienceNotifications, follower lists, analytics

You never learn who follows, saves or reposts you. The audience stays an abstraction, so you write for yourself instead of performing for a crowd you can picture.

The only feedback there is

A quiet signal, once in a while.

When your writing has been kept by a few people lately, one line appears at the top of your stream on your next visit. No number, no names, no notification. You find it; it never comes looking for you.

Some of what you've written lately has been kept.

Not clickable. There is nothing underneath it.

The whole product

Everything you can do here.

Four things you can do. There is no fifth, and there is no menu hiding more.

Drop it

A thought at any length, an image, or a post from X or Instagram worth passing on.

Keep it

Saving is private and permanent-ish — permanent until the person who wrote it decides otherwise.

Carry it

Pass something on whole, credited to whoever wrote it. You cannot dunk on it, and it never becomes an argument.

Or delete it

Deleting is total and immediate: your page, RSS, every repost, every saved copy. No tombstones, no archive.

Your page

It looks like this.

One column, in the order you wrote it. Anyone can read it without an account, and anyone can follow it in a feed reader.

Write it down and get on with your day.

Nothing here will ask for your attention back.
